ChariotAre you having trouble with the movies?

It might be one of the following:

  • If you can see a big blue “Q”, then QuickTime is probably installed. That’s good.
  • If you don’t see a big blue “Q” you should visit the QuickTime download page and reinstall QuickTime.
  • Also, check to see if your browser is blocking multimedia content. If you’re using Internet Explorer, look to the top of the window when you’re trying to load or play a video and see if a thin yellow warning bar has appeared that says something like “blocked content.” You can click on that and unblock the content and you should be fine.
  • If you’re using Safari, Firefox, Chrome, or something else other than a Windows product, I don’t know what to tell you. I’m old and square.

Can I make the movies bigger?

Try your view settings on your browser. If you increase the view/zoom (e.g., from 100% to 150%) the movie should size with it.

What is RSS?

RSS stands for “Really Simple Syndication.” It’s a way for you to keep up with this blog without having to check in on it all the time. Most email readers (e.g., Outlook) and portals (e.g., MyYahoo) these days have a way for you to add an RSS feed. If you’re not using one of those, you could also use BlogLines or Feedburner. But even easier than that is to subscribe to our email feed.

Where is my comment?

Your first comment is moderated, because even little family blogs like this get a lot of spam. After that, just keep posting using the same user name and you should be fine.

Categories

The categories in the right-hand sidebar allow you to sort by your favorite topic. For example, click on “Quinn” to see all the posts related to Quinn — photos, videos, notes, whatever. Why no Leonard Nimoy category? I think that’s self-explanatory.

How do you make pancakes?

Try this, it’s pretty cool.
